About Theodorous

A focused London law firm for cases that require close attention.

Theodorous is the trading name of Christodoulos Ltd, an SRA-regulated law firm based in Red Lion Square, London. We advise on criminal defence, investigations, fraud and financial crime, civil litigation and reputation-sensitive matters.

What the firm is built to do

Some legal problems are routine. Others have the potential to affect liberty, employment, business interests, family relationships and reputation at the same time. Theodorous is structured around the second category: matters where the facts need to be understood properly and the next step needs to be chosen carefully.

We act from the earliest investigation stage through court proceedings and related disputes. That includes police interviews, pre-charge representations, serious criminal cases, fraud and proceeds-of-crime matters, bail, civil disputes, injunction-related work and reputation issues.

Our working principles

Act at the right timeUse investigation and pre-action stages where early intervention can still influence the position.

Principal-led

The firm is led by Paris Christodoulos Theodorou, an SRA-regulated solicitor admitted in 2012. His practice has developed around criminal defence and evidence-intensive disputes, with particular emphasis on early case strategy and disclosure.

Where a matter requires specialist advocacy or expert evidence, the firm can coordinate with suitably experienced barristers and experts. The aim is to build the right team for the issues rather than add layers of unnecessary process.

London base, wider reach

Our head office is in central London. Subject to the nature of the matter and availability, we accept instructions across England and Wales, including investigation-stage work where much of the preparation can be undertaken remotely and attendance arranged where required.

THE PRACTICE

A focused firm for consequential legal problems

Theodorous was established to combine the direct involvement and accountability of a focused practice with the procedural depth expected in serious criminal and civil work. The firm acts from investigation and pre-action stages through contested hearings, trials, appeals and enforcement where the case requires it.

Criminal defence

The practice covers police-station advice, pre-charge work, Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court proceedings, serious crime, fraud and financial crime, sexual offences, violence, drugs, stalking and harassment, domestic allegations, extradition, POCA and appeals.

Civil litigation

Private civil work includes contract and commercial disputes, debt recovery, injunctions, shareholder and partnership disputes, defamation, online content issues, claims involving police conduct and public-law challenges.

Public and private funding

The firm holds a Legal Aid Agency criminal contract and also undertakes substantial privately funded work. The appropriate funding model depends on the matter, scope and procedural stage.

Specialist sister service

Care Home Cost Claims is a specialist service connected with Theodorous, focused on NHS Continuing Healthcare funding and recovery issues for families. It has its own dedicated website and client journey.

What principal-led means in practice

Principal-led does not mean that every administrative task is personally completed by the principal. It means responsibility for legal strategy, material advice and the standard of the work sits close to the person whose name is on the firm. Where counsel, an expert or another specialist is required, the reason for involving them should be explained and their role coordinated with the wider case strategy.
